Lisbon

The task of compiling the seven wonders of the world for people would have been really a tough one. There were so many marvels to choose from. The task of compiling the list of seven wonders of the world was originally started by around 5th century BC.

We all know the difficulties of old days to travel around places. People had quite tough times in travel and collecting data like these. Imaging traveling by walk or on camels or horses for 100s of miles without a proper place to rest. Of course our generation is blessed to have a large number of hotels and lodges wherever we go. We have aero places, trains, buses, cars, bikes and what not…

The New 7 Wonders of the World were announced during the Official Declaration ceremony in Lisbon, Portugal on Saturday, July 7, 2007 - 07.07.07.

The New7Wonders of the World, as announced in random order at the Official Declaration Ceremony on 07.07.07, are: The Great Wall of China, Petra, Chichén Itzá , the Statue of Christ Redeemer, the Colosseum, Machu Picchu and the Taj Mahal. More than 100 million votes were cast worldwide. The New 7 Wonders are all equal – there is no rank among the list.

  1. Chichen Itza Yucatan, Mexico

  2. Christ the Redeemer Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

  3. Colosseum Rome, Italy

  4. Great Wall of China China

  5. Machu Picchu Cuzco, Peru

  6. Petra Jordan

  7. Taj Mahal Agra, India

7 Wonders were chosen because the original list of Ancient Wonders, drawn up more than 2,000 years ago, contained 7 and because 7 has been shown time and time again to be the number of things that the average person can remember.

The Pyramids of Giza also were honored by the New7Wonders project as the only remaining of the 7 Ancient Wonders of the World
.

So have quick look on new seven wonders & make quick plan to visit them, if you haven’t seen them in life it means you missed the chance to see outstanding creation of our forefathers…

Hi Gaurav,
I think you have done a good job. But I think you should promote Taj Mahal the most.
